Did you know that by making simple energy-efficiency updates in a typical home, the yield can nearly $600 in annual bill savings - or a 16 percent overall return on investment, according to the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

The energy audit we provide focuses on five major areas:

1) Energy Habits: As part of your audit will cover energy saving practices and things you can do to reduce your consumption.  As part of our Energy Audit we will go over most of these items with you and give you documentation and advice on what really works.

2) Air Circulation and Leakage: The second area is identifying how air is leaking into and out your home. Air infiltration can account for 30% - 50% of your heating/cooling bills so this is a very critical part of your inspection. To learn more on this area click on the Air and Duct Sealing section to the left.

3) Insulation: The next area deals with well your home maintains a comfortable environment. Insulation keeps your home warm when it's cold outside and cool when it's a hot day. As part of this step we will determine if your home is properly insulated, if the insulation was installed correctly, and where we can add more insulation to help maintain a comfortable environment.

4) Heating/Cooling Systems Evaluation: The forth area is to review how you are heating and cooling your home and what upgrade options exist to maximize your heating and cooling dollars. Heating systems that are over 15 years old tend to be very inefficient and have inefficient delivering systems. New systems tend to be installed incorrectly and may be wasting energy. As part of our audit we will go over these items with you, tell you how to maximize the efficiency of your current system, and review what heating and cooling upgrades exist.

5) Air Quality: The last area is to catagorize the air quality and identify any possible carbon monoxide problems. This is very important because bad air quality can cause allergies and low level carbon monoxide can cause health problems and at the extremes can be fatal. The problems we identify under this part of your inspection could be life- threatening and need to be addressed before any other upgrades are made.

When your Energy Audit we will produce a customized report that outlines the energy saving opportunities we discoved along with recommended solutions.
